Edwin Wright (aka: “The Chef”) started his radio career in Mocks Corner in the mid-80’s as music director and host of an award-winning sports show with NFL running back and former McDonald’s owner Rolland Harper. Recruited to the Charleston market by the late Jessie Williams and legend Clyde Jones, The Chef made one more stop before being recruited to Heaven 100.1where he starts off your weekday and Sunday mornings with gospel praise and leads the “Heaven Squad.” “LJ,” as she is affectionately known, has been an on-air media personality for over 10 years. When not hosting “Quartets & Classics” or “Weekend Midday Moments with LJ,” you’ll find her on the local theater stage. LJ has interviewed and sometimes shared the stage with inspiring figures like the late Ruby Dee, Lisa Nichols and Kirk Franklin. Her most notable work to date is an on-air interview with Former First Lady Michelle Obama. A mother of three and grandmother of three “indigo souls,” LJ brings encouraging, real talk to your weekends.

Recently recruited to Heaven, Lady T is on the air weekday middays and organizes community events, including a free Travis Greene concert. Troy’s motto is, “It’s not about how you start, but how you finish.” A native of Charleston, Troy has a powerful testimony of overcoming challenges in school and in life. His personal victory of graduating high school and earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Religion inspired him to become an author, minister, speaker, mentor and trainer specializing in shifting mindsets and increasing graduation rates among male students. Influenced by the big band, jazz, classical and gospel she grew up listening to, “Kat” started singing at an early age. She was featured in the 2013 Charleston Blues Revue and nominated for Charleston City Paper’s “Best of 2015” for best female vocalist. She later competed in the 2016 International Blues Challenge after winning the local competition in Charleston. When she’s not on the air, Kat is a mother and has regular gigs around town with Oscar Rivers Jr. and Joe Clarke. DJ Dex is a trendsetter in his passion for Gospel music! His vision is “to translate the Word of God through hip-hop, encourage all ages and show that it’s ok to get crunk for Christ.” DJ Dex wants to help young adults and our elders bridge the age gap through music. The host of “New Life, New You,” DJ Dex has shared the stage with the biggest names in the biz, like Kirk Franklin, and worked festivals like Mega-Fest, The South Eastern Black Expo Tour, The Gathering Conference and The Dove Awards.
