TJ PHILLIPS MON-FRI 5A-10A TJ has been on the radio since he was 15 years old. His career has covered most music genres, including Country, Classic Rock, Top 40 and Alternative, as well as Talk and Sports Radio. As a Veteran, he served with the American Forces Network in Munich, Germany. TJ has been a Production Director, Program Director, Operations Manager and General Manager over the years. He is, however, most proud of doing local morning radio, knowing the listeners as friends and trying to make a difference in our community. TJ has been voted Best Radio Personality by The Charleston City Paper and Mount Pleasant Magazine, Best Local Radio Show and South Carolina Broadcasters Radio Show of the Year. TJ has also been inducted into the Lowcountry Music Hall of Fame for his support of the local music community. |
JESSICA CHANDLER MON-FRI 5A-10A Jessica Chandler moved to the Lowcountry almost 20 years ago from her hometown of Easley, SC. She started her career in radio in 2003 after an internship in TV. After realizing “news” didn’t fit, she transitioned into radio and worked in promotions, traffic and on-air for 11 years before joining Kickin’ in 2014. Jessica has been on the morning show with her partner, TJ Phillips, since 2016 and they are the only local country radio show in the market. Jessica and TJ discuss local and world issues and their daily lives – especially Jessica’s because it’s a hot mess! Jessica is a big supporter of the military and charities helping veterans and childhood cancer. She was voted the Charleston City Paper’s “Best Talk Show Host” in 2016 and 2017. She has lived all around the Lowcountry, but currently, in Hanahan with her crazy dog Sawyer. |
BRIAN CLEARY MON-FRI 10A-3P If you ask Brian “Carolina or Clemson,” he’ll tell you “We Are Penn State!” Since migrating from Pennsylvania to the Lowcountry, he’s helped raise more than $2 million for the MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital. When he’s not on the air, Brian is on the beach at IOP, shooting hoops, getting in that cardio or watching The Simpsons with his wife and two cats – he’s a real pet lover. Also a grill master, Brian prioritizes healthy eating and is a member of his local his local seafood CSA. In addition to acting as midday host on 92.5 Kickin’ Country, Brian is also the Promotions and Marketing Manager for all six Charleston Radio Group stations, responsible for ensuring that contests, sponsorships and events are executed without a hitch! |
HUNTER MON-FRI 3P-7P Having grown up in Nashville, country music is in Hunter’s blood. Raised by a father who left an on-air legacy in radio, Hunter followed naturally in his footsteps. He worked for WMMS in Cleveland and WDSY in Pittsburgh where he was awarded “Best Morning Show” and “Best Morning Show Personality” by the New York Broadcasters Assoc. He also worked in Columbia, SC where he won “Personality of the Year” in 2015, and in Savannah, where he won “Best Personality” and “Best Morning Show.” Today, Hunter is creating his own legacy as a 20-year radio vet and proud Lowcountry resident. Hunter acts as Program Director for 92.5 Kickin’ Country, which was nominated for “Best Medium Market Station” at the 2020 Country Radio Seminar. Hunter is also one-half of Kickin’s light-hearted afternoon drive show “Hunter & Cush,” a proud father of three boys, a craft beer lover and avid disc golfer. Hunter has endorsed Budweiser, Health & Wellness, and Harry’s Razor. Follow him on Instagram @hunterradio. |
CUSH MON-FRI 3P-7P Cush is straight outta West Ashley and has two goals: make you laugh and play your favorite country songs every afternoon. With four daughters and a lovely wife, he’s a family-first dude. (Though, needless to say, being grossly outnumbered at home has cost him some hair.) Voted ‘Class Clown’ in high school, Cush has been joking about the trouble – or causing it – for most of his life. After hours and on weekends, you’re likely to catch him having a porter at a local brewery, catching waves at the beach, or playing disc golf. The #lowcountrylife has, and continues to be, Cush’s perfect fit. |
TUG COWART MON-FRI 7P-12M Tug was born and raised in Dalton, GA. He’s been married to his wife Laura for 23 years. His son Jakob is a student and on the baseball team at College of Charleston. As a US Navy veteran, Tug was stationed aboard USS South Carolina (CGN37) and on a flag staff, Commander Carrier Group Sox (ComCarGruSix) embarked aboard USS John F. Kennedy (CV67). Tug has worked in radio for 24 years, starting in his hometown, then in Chattanooga, Atlanta and now Charleston. Tug’s favorite parts about the Lowcountry are the beach, baseball and college football. His favorite country artists include Waylon, Whitley and Wallen. |
